1. Rationale
In recent yearswith EMCs higher requirements for electronic products and devices and peoples more awareness on human health and public security, electromagnetic shielding materials have become a necessary green electronic fundamental materials for anti-electromagnetic radiation in many fields such as industrial manufacturing, environmental protection, human body protection and EMC etc. In China, electromagnetic shielding materials are widely used and its definition and classification are written in GB/T 26667-2011 Terminology for Electromagnetic Shielding Materials very clearly. We suggest electromagnetic shielding materials added in ASTM D1117-11a Standard Terminology Relating to Electrical Insulation. We hope the revision work will do help to D1117-11a s integrity relating to both electrical insulation and electrical shielding.
