1. Scope
This guide describes methods for evaluating and characterization of the key components of laser holography, shearography and interferometry systems. The proper classification of the components and overall capability of laser systems is essential to insure the proper application and use of laser inspection systems.
Laser NDT methods are being used in many critical applications and the number of ASTM standards using laser NDT is increasing. A methods is required to evaluate and classify laser NDT systems to insure they are capable of performing in accordance with existing and future requirements
