ASTM WK37902

Revision of E997 - 11 Standard Test Method for Structural Performance of Glass in Exterior Windows, Curtain Walls, and Doors Under the Influence of Uniform Static Loads by Destructive Methods

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: E997 - 14

Developed by Subcommittee: E06.51 | Committee E06 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

The standard was revised to provide consistency in statements made about the test results regarding the breakage probability of a population of glass specimens. Prior to this revision, the statements made about breakage probability were consistent only if there were no test failures. Revision of test parameters, statistical tables, and rewording of the Interpretation of Results now provides rational conclusions regardless of the test results. Other changes were made to for clarity.
