1. Scope
Define the surface finish, allowable defects, and mechanical properties for hot rolled rod coil.
Currently there is no standard that defines the properties and finish for hot rolled nickel alloy rod coil. Customers do not really know what product they are getting because it is not defined in any specificaiton commonly used in North America. The lack of a standard leads to misunderstanding between suppliers and users which is a continuing issue for both sides. A referenced standard in North America would help clarify the situation for all.
