1. Rationale
There is general agreement that a caveat statement is needed in the standard to emphasize that the physical properties referenced in the standard are tested under laboratory conditions and that actual in-situ performance will vary when ambient conditions are different than the test conditions. A ballot item to add a statement to the Scope generated negatives that were found persuasive. Discussion at the Task Group resulted in agreement to add a statement to Section 4 Classification to satisfy the negatives.
