1. Rationale
This standard represents IR camera technology that is a full generation obsolete. The specified thermal scanner in the current standard, at least relative to this test description, is no longer a viable sensor technology and, in fact, is no longer being produced. The rewording of this standard simply brings it up to the level of contemporary camera technology , and supporting equipment, now available and does not change the test method.
