    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: E05.14 | Committee E05 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

1.1. This fire-test-response standard prescribes a method for qualitative observations of the relative fire characteristics of exposed underside of eave overhangs and other projections such as the soffits of roof eaves and floor projections to direct flame impingement from a simulated fire originating outside the building. This test method provides data suitable for comparing the performance of materials, which are used as the exposed underside surfaces of eave overhangs and other projections. This test method is applicable to eave overhangs and other projections intended for installation on either combustible or noncombustible building envelope when applied as intended for use. .

eave, projection, fire resistance, fire-test response characteristic, soffit
