1. Rationale
The current applicable O.N. rating range for Procedures B and C of D2699 and D2700 specify a range from 80 to 100 O.N. without a decimal point. The lack of a decimal point means that the trailing zeros could be interpreted as not significant. There is a potential for confusion regarding whether the range is from 75 to 104 or 80.0 to 100.0. Precedence has been set by Subcommittee E to adjust the minimum Cetane Number level in D975 from 40 to 40. to avoid any ambiguity (D02 10-04 Item 33). The applicable O.N. rating range for Procedures B and C of D2699 and D2700 should be updated to be from 80.0 to 100.0.
