1. Scope
1.1This guide considers the key factors when specifying and purchasing an oil boom reel. 1.2 It provides the user a systematic method on how to define requirements and what operational, engineering design, maintenance and safety issues to consider based on the requirements. 1.3 It is the users responsibility to determine if the boom to be stored on a selected reel is compatible with the design and capability of said reel.
