1. Scope
This test method covers the determination of the holding strength of a tack and prong fastener attached button using a tensile testing machine. This test method is applicable to attached buttons in garments or to be attached to fabrics intended for use in apparel.
This standard will fill a gap in the industry for strength testing of tack and prong fastener attached buttons. It is anticipated it will be used for quality control, research & development with potential of being adopted by government agencies.
