1. Rationale
Section 9.1 of C31/C31M requires that the specimens be molded on a flat, level surface that is free of vibration or other disturbances. However, the standard does not require that vibration and other disturbance be avoided at the specimen storage location during the initial curing period. The purpose of this proposed revision is to extend these restrictions to the initial curing storage location as well.
