1. Scope
The scope of this effort is to develop a practical guide for the field instrumentation of geosynthetic materials. The guide is intended to outline types of instrumentation and methods of installation that have proven to be effective in collecting beneficial data. Initial scope is address instrumentation for measurement of deformation, strain, pressure, temperature.
There is a need for consistent and effective field measurement of geosynthetic materials. The guide is intended to minimize the inappropriate or incorrect instrumentation of materials that may lead to erroneous measurements that are not beneficial to the improved understanding of field performance.
