ASTM WK36967

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK36967 - Revision of D7371 - 07 Standard Test Method for Determination of Biodiesel (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) Content in Diesel Fuel Oil Using Mid Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR-ATR-PLS Method)

Active Standard: D7371 - 12

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.04.0F | Committee D02 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

It is not necessary to calibrate the instrument for measurement ranges for which the instrument is not used. For example, a potential biodiesel blender is blending biodiesel in diesel fuel to a maximum of 5 volume percent. This proposal provides relief from unnecessary calibrations.

Keywords

biodiesel; biodiesel blend; biodiesel (FAME) content; FAME; fatty acid methyl esters; infrared spectroscopy;
