1. Rationale

As it is currently written ASTM C-1515 addresses the use of poultices exclusively, it thereby ignores well over 75% of those viable methods used to clean dimensional stone today. The proposed revision is an attempt to address that portion not defined in the current ASTM standard, C-1515.
