1. Rationale
At the regularly scheduled meeting of the A04.75 subcommittee in November, 2011, the subcommittee discussed the need to add dimensional and material requirements to the ASTM C1540 standard to reflect the varieties of heavy duty couplings currently being manufactured. Bruce Bowater volunteered to undertake a review of the current standard and present his findings at the next A04.75 meeting in May, 2012.
