1. Rationale
ASTM has mandated that contractual language be removed from ASTM standards. Task Group C15.02.38 Product vs. Project Specification Content has been created and charged with this task. Previous ballots have generated several negatives to removing contractual information. The Task Group subsequently asked for and has received confirmation from ASTM that contractual information is to be removed from the standards. The purpose of this ballot is to remove contractual language from Standard C 216 without modifying the intent of the standard.
