WK36005 Revision of D409 / D409M - 11 Standard Test Method for Grindability of Coal by the Hardgrove-Machine Method

1. Rationale

As recommended by producer of HGI SRMs, the requirement in A1.3.6 that: , the entire shipment shall be sieved to remove the under size or oversize prior to further processing. would cause a problem in that 80 and 100 HGI coals contain a significant fraction of -1/8, thereby increasing the amount of stock material by a factor of 4 (estimated). Currently the producer of HGI SRMs is NOT following A1.3.6
