1. Rationale
A ballot was presented to the committee before fall meeting 2011 introducing a new martensitic grade together with new language for corrosion data in a new clause X1.3 in the annex. This was not subject to any comment or negative. Meanwhile, an UNS-Number had been assigned to this new grade which is S42027. The only negative was from James Scutti and requested a reference in any related ASTM-standard prior to be amended in F899. During the committee meeting in November his negative was voted persuasive. As a solution the committee decided to allow AMS standards also being a source of reference since it is described therein. A proper wording should be introduced and subject to re-balloting process.
