1. Rationale
Since the last revision, several new perlite cover boards have been introduced into the market place. These cover boards exceed the mechanical properties currently listed in Table 1 for Type 2 Roof Cover/Recover Board, thus a new Type 3 is being proposed to more accurately represent these new products. Other changes related to the Type 3 addition include, 1) the replacement of Flexural Strength with Break Load for all types to accommodate manufacturer preference, 2) the elimination of a Type 1, thick product and 3) the use of Type 2 and 3 with laminated foam products.
