1. Rationale
There are many people who still claim that a material has a coefficient of friction. We need to remind these people that it is a system effect and a couple is required. There is also a need to restate some of the fundamentals that are known about the frction force, rolling friction, and traction. This appendix is an optional appendix to serve this purpose.
