ASTM WK35698

Revision of G115 - 10 Standard Guide for Measuring and Reporting Friction Coefficients

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: G115 - 10(2013)

Developed by Subcommittee: G02.50 | Committee G02 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

There are many people who still claim that a material has a coefficient of friction. We need to remind these people that it is a system effect and a couple is required. There is also a need to restate some of the fundamentals that are known about the frction force, rolling friction, and traction. This appendix is an optional appendix to serve this purpose.
