1. Rationale
Four terms are being submitted in accordance with the recent meeting of G02.91 (Dec 8, 2012): Term (1) - Incubation period: To clarify the prior wording to identify the term as representing a period of time rather than a process of material and stress accumulation. Term (2) - Abrasion: To replace the prior words tangential contact with relative motion Term (3) - Wear resistance: To replace the word body, which does not imply a solid or a surface-related phenomenon, with the existing G40 term triboelement which is more accurate. Term (4) - Erosion resistance: To replace the word body, which does not imply a solid or a surface-related phenomenon with the existing G40 term triboelement which is more accurate.
