1. Rationale
. Proposed change to C-1227 Add New Section: Section 6.1.4. The structural design of tanks will consider buoyancy effects, if applicable, and proportion the structure to assure an adequate flotation safety factor. The remainder of Section 6.1. to be renumbered to accommodate the addition of the new section. Rationale: Language is being added to address potential buoyancy issues that could impact tanks installed in areas with high water table. The proposed new section comes directly from ASTM C890 Section 8.2.
