WK35452 Revision of D2419 - 09 Standard Test Method for Sand Equivalent Value of Soils and Fine Aggregate

1. Rationale

Wording in this test method infers that it is measuring the amount of clay contamination in a sample, however the amount of clean dust of fracture (non-clay fines) in crushed fine aggregate will affect the readings for this test. Revised wording is needed to clarify that the test also measures clay-sized particles that are present in clean dust of fracture.
