1. Scope
Develop test methods for NCLS and springline strain evaluation to correlate to the requirements in the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications for thermoplastic pipe.
There is currently no test method for directly correlating design values used in structural evaluation for pipe with minimum values in manufactured product. This test method would serve as the principal test method for all DOT's and municipalities for evaluting the long-term structural viability of thermoplastic pipe.
