ASTM WK35279

Revision of F2136 - 08 Standard Test Method for Notched, Constant Ligament-Stress (NCLS) Test to Determine Slow-Crack-Growth Resistance of HDPE Resins or HDPE Corrugated Pipe

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: F2136 - 08

Developed by Subcommittee: F17.40 | Committee F17 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

ASTM F2136 has specimen preparation procedures for samples made from compression-molded plaques. Current industry standards (e.g. AASHTO M294) also require specimens to be taken from the liner of Type S corrugated HDPE pipe, and there is no guidance for preparation of these specimens in ASTM F2136. This revision will provide the procedure for preparing and notching specimens from the liner of corrugated HDPE pipe. This has been designated as Project 40-11-07.
