1. Scope

This specification covers the general requirements and physical properties of interior radiation control coatings (IRCC) for use in building applications. The IRCC is sprayed or painted onto interior building surfaces and results in a far-infrared emittance of 0.25 or less. This standard will address IRCC physical properties and provide quality control for an established product that has been in the market and already has an ASTM Standard Practice in place. It would be utilized by the IRCC manufacturers, wholesalers and installers.
