It has been observed that some grease types and additives in tested samples tend to absorb water. The drying temperatures currently specified in the method are not sufficient to dry all samples after testing. Sometimes this leads to the tested sample exhibiting a weight gain. Note 4 will be expanded to include a 2nd higher drying temperature for samples that require it and to clarify drying times. Additionally, the drying temperature tolerances will be standardized throughout the method.
