1. Scope
1.1 This specification establishes the conformity assessment requirements for limited use and reusable garments that are worn while spraying field-strength liquid pesticides. The testing requirements for certification are specified in Performance Specification F2669. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
The standard will provide the details to ensure compliance with ASTM F2669. Details will be provided for first-party certification of Level 1 garments and third-party certification of Level 2 and Level 3 garments. There is a high probability for the standard to be adopted for protective clothing required for pesticide operators in the United States.
