1. Rationale
A task group was formed under Sub-Committee F24.30 to review and recommend changes to F24 Standards that have an impact to Maintenance Procedures and Practices for Amusement Rides and Devices. The task group has reviewed the maintenance sections of the following F24 Standards: F770, F1193 and F2291. As a result, the task group has concluded that the following sections within F1193 should be moved to F2291 as the Designer/Engineer has the responsibility to deliver the technical requirements for maintaining the amusement rides and devices to either the owner or distributor of the attraction. F1193 currently applies to the quality, manufacture and construction to meet designer/engineer intent and not documentation deliverables of operating and maintenance of an amusement ride or device to the owner/operator.
