1. Rationale
Phase #1A - Get approval to change name from Standard Test Method of Macro-etch Testing Steel Bars, Billets, Blooms, and Forgings to Standard Test Method for Macro-etch Testing of Steel. Phase #1B - Get approval to extend the Scope of the standard to include continuously cast steel in the form of billets, blooms, and slabs as well as vacuum arc melted steel ingots (melted in air). In addition, the range of grades of steel will include interstitial free steel, low alloy steel, and stainless steel.
