1. Rationale

The task group has reviewed the standard and recommended revisions be made. The revisions being proposed make the standard more flexible for all types of product manufacturers, correct bearing length specifications to improve results, and add options to allow users to choose methods for determining moisture content, among other things. In addition, there are various editorial changes that will be balloted.
