1. Rationale
To provide clarification that the intent is and always was that the attachment is to the framing members and the attachments should be kept on the framing members to eliminate excessive flattening of lath/improper embedment, thermal bridging, impeded drainage plane and excessive unsealed WRB penetrations/leakage. This will help provide guidance as an installation standard should, protect installers, builders/GC and the building owner to insure a healthy long lasting building enclosure.
