1. Rationale
During the June 2011 C24.01 Terminology Meeting, the subcommittee discussed use of the term Standard Conditioning in our sealant standards. To better understand how this term is defined in each of our standards, a spreadsheet has been developed to summarize the wording in each standard. The consensus of the members attending the Jan 2012 meeting was that an acceptable way to harmonize the standards would be the following actions, to be formalized and voted on at the next C24.90 Executive Subcommittee meeting in June 2012: 1.Change definition of Standard Conditions in C717. 2.Subcommittees revise individual standards (as they are renewed) to state, where applicable, either: a)standard conditions (which would imply the definition as finally agreed and published in C717), or b)the following conditions, with specific parameters that differ from C717, and noting that this differs from standard conditions.
