1. Scope

This specification covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for wrought Titanium-3Aluminum-2.5Vanadium alloy (R56320) to be used in the manufacture of surgical implants. Ti 3Al-2.5V alloy is currently being used as an implant for multiple applications and only the only implant application is for this alloy is tubing (F2146). Presently an industrial grade alloy standard is being used to qualify the material being used.
