Work Item: ASTM WK34014 - New Practice for Determining the Dry Fall (Fog) Properties of Protective Coatings

Developed by Subcommittee: D01.46 | Committee D01 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

This standard practice describes a procedure for evaluating the dry fall properties of coatings. The establishment of the test environment and the evaluation procedures are described in this practice. Dry fall coatings are manufactured and sold by a number of coating manufacturers and their inherent dry fall properties are critical in avoiding damage to property adjacent to and below spraying operations. Yet there is no known standardized testing procedure to evaluate whether these coatings possess dry fall properties on surfaces of varying temperature.
