1. Scope
Describes test specimen construction and method of load application based on use of the ASTM E330 test method, specifically for EIFS.
The E330 method is currently required by the ICC code for EIFS-clad wall assemblies using studs and sheathing as the supporting wall structure. The E330 method does not describe adequately how specifically the method should be used for EIFS. This new standard provides the required additional technical details. IMPORTANT: This new standard was under development in E06.58 several years ago and has been balloted several times. Priorities shifted and the old Work Item (WK12586) was dropped from ASTM's active list of Work Items in E06.58. This new Work Item is needed to re-start and finalize this new standard.
