1. Scope
This terminology is used in test methods, specifications, guides and practices related to biological or naturally derived materials used in agronomic applications. These definitions are written to insure that standards related to biological or naturally derived materials used in agronomic applications are properly understood and interpreted. Terms included in this standard cover biological or naturally derived products (animals, plants, microorganisms, man-made substances resembling biological or naturally derived materials, or minerals) focusing on functional and or marketing claims.
Several government entities are considering regulations regarding bio pesticides and bio rationals. The proposed standard would also be used to define ambiguous terms and claims in the market.
