1. Scope
This proposed specification covers requirements and test methods for fabricated or molded poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) gasketed sanitary and storm drainage sewer basins and fittings to be used with piping materials. Basins and fabricated fittings may be manufactured from pipe, or from a combination of pipe and injection molded parts with or without flat PVC base stock. The requirements of this specification are to provide fabricated or molded PVC gasketed basins and fittings suitable for non-pressure drainage of sewage and surface water, as well as applications involving subsurface drainage.
This standard would provide uniform manufacturing requirements for PVC basins currently provided for sanitary, storm and drainage applications. These basins are currently used with ASTM products, and as such, should meet or exceed the requirements for the ASTM pipe products connecting to these units.
