1. Rationale
Re-reading the document revealed some editorial errors that will be corrected in this draft. Also, D15.06 has been discussing adding a third up-to-date, global, aluminum-focused corrosion coupon bundle that better represents todays automobile cooling system technology. The old bundles, however, are not totally obsolete and cannot be eliminated. We may wish to remove the coupon descriptions from this document and create a standard materials specification in 15.01 to identify and specify approved coupon bundles for testing in standard test methods to various specifications. These are all matters for discussion as we evolve this proposed upgrade to D1384.
