1. Scope
Develop digital reference images which illustrate the types and degrees of discontinuities that may be found in magnesium-alloy castings.
Magnesium digital reference images are required for use with digital radiography systems, such as Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Detector Array (DDA). They are intended for reference only, but are so designed that acceptance standards, which may be developed for particular requirements, can be specified in terms of these digital reference images. These digital reference images may be applied as acceptance standards to the end use of the product. Quality control departments are the intended users.
