1. Scope
Provide information on marketing and product claims related to sustainable building. While consistent with regulatory requirements, such as the FTC Green Guides, it also outlines market expectations for communication of environmental data related to sustainable building. Coordinate with ASTM E2129.
Negative ballots on Practice E2129 regarding the lack of guidance, which have been judged to be out of scope of that document, have identified the need. Task group believes a preferred or prescribed interpretation mechanism or tool may be necessary. Use would be by building product specifiers (architects, engineers, designers), and other users of Practice E2129.
