1. Scope
1.1 This specification covers outdoor wall padding. All padding constructions are included. The intended use of this specification is for the qualification of construction designs and comparison of products. Note 1This specification was developed due to the numerous designs in existence and the need to provide a method to determine if a wall pad meets a minimum level of protection. Note 2There is no equivalent ISO standard. 1.2 The values as stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are given for information only. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. See 7.1 for specific hazards statement.
The Standard Specification for Outdoor Wall Padding is needed for qualification of construction designs and comparison of products. The users of this Standard will be architect and engineering firms, facility owners and operators, as well as end users of activities which utilize Outdoor Wall Padding.
