1. Scope
This document is used to define the standard method to use in determining the resistance of impermeable material to the passage of air. This standard establishes both a pass-fail criteria and a method for characterizing the impermeability of materials during product development and evaluation. This standard is written for use on flexible barrier packaging material; that blocks the passage of air for a given period of time. This test is an indirect method for determining the ability of a material to block the passage of micro organisms. This standard may be used to fulfill impermeability testing of materials as defined in ISO-11607-1 2006 Annex C
