ASTM WK30356

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK30356 - Revision of D1840 - 07 Standard Test Method for Naphthalene Hydrocarbons in Aviation Turbine Fuels by Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry

Active Standard: D1840 - 07

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.04.0F | Committee D02 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

It was brought to the attention of the subcommittee that NIST SRM 2034 has been discontinued and no current source of a suitable holmium oxide standard was found to exist. Also, the wavelength tolerance on the holmium oxide glass standard exceeds that required by the method. Therefore, the purpose of this revision is to remove the holmium oxide alternatives to the mercury lamp, and to add the mercury caveat.
