The Acceleration Task Group met on June 24 and 25 to discuss improvements to ASTM F 2291-09. During the task force meeting it was determined that there was a discrepancy between Figure 1 in ASTM F 2291 and Figure 2 in ASTM F 2137. The task group determined that the figures need to clearly reflect the intent and actual practice in the field. The limits are related to the patron coordinate system and therefore the diagrams need to reflect that the angle of the Z axis is aligned with the seatback angle. The Task Group has developed a new Figure that will replace the current Figure 1 in ASTM F 2291 and Figure 2 in ASTM F 2137. A separate ballot will be submitted for this change in ASTM F 2137.
