1. Rationale
Although this standard is now released with new date (2009), it needs significant revisions (major overhaul) to bring it up to date with current methods and data. The standard was originated in the mid-1970s with data from the Lockheed Report (the author of this report has been contact for assistance with being the standard up to date for current practices). From a discussion of the overall structure and content of the document it was decided that a rewrite of the entire document is needed. A sub team will be formed to produce a draft. Industry partners will also be solicited for input at the appropriate time.
