1. Scope

Online sensor bypass or fully inline Inductive sense technology Material discrimination - ferrous / non-ferrous Size classification - binned rather than absolute values Accumulated particle count and equivalent mass Gearbox applications e.g. Wind Turbine Remote interrogation and reporting This Standard will suggest accepted practices for selection, application, and use of inductive type metal debris sensors intended to monitor ferrous and non-ferrous wear particle generation found in gearbox applications. Equipment manufacturers and customers will use this Standard to define common terms and interfaces such that these devices may be conveniently and readily installed into their intended applications.
