1. Scope
This practice provides for the statistical evaluation of data from instruments such as those using spectrometric methods for analysis, including Spark-AESOES, ICP-AES and GD-AES, but not including XRF. The evaluation includes various ways to determine variance and standard deviation; testing for outliers and bias; establishing instrumental limits of detection; determining confidence intervals; and testing for drift.
