1.1 This specification sets recommendations for preliminary requirements for small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS) command and control (C&C) links. It is the intent of this specification to foster the development of safe and reliable C&C links at an affordable cost and to permit safe, orderly growth and operation of sUAS. 1.2 Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations do not set standards for receiver performance and susceptibility, only unintentional radiation. To protect the public, this standard sets certain guidelines for the overall performance for C&C links used in sUAS that includes both the FCC-certified transmitter and the associated receiver. 1.3 UnitsThe values given in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address any or all of the safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
