1. Rationale
A request to add ultra high modulus (UHMW)-polyethylene to Table 1 of D1776 was approved at the San Antonio meeting in January 2010. Table 1 was reorganized to show a clear distinction between general standard atmospheres and those specific to other textiles. Information has been added relating to harmonization with ISO 130 Standard Atmospheres for Conditioning pertinent to the uncertainty of measurement of temperature and relative humidity controllers and recorders as related to reasonable laboratory tolerances. A bibliography supplied by National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) has been added in support of tolerances that incorporate of uncertainty of measurement related to risk management and laboratory certification.
